Very enjoyable!

Mountain View does have its share of characters (other than the prostitutes, which are a new development since we moved away, I guess!).

On Saturdays you'll find a fellow stationed outside the rear of the library. He'll be typing away at a computer that's plugged into the library's power supply (not a laptop, a full-sized computer on a cart, complete with a monitor) and you can recognize him by the interesting hat. He's writing his own operating system. Stella started a conversation with him, which is how I wind up talking to a lot of people these days :)

Given that MV is in California, you still run into the hard-core granola types. I was on Casto St. a while back (after we'd moved back to Ottawa; I was down on business and feeling nostalgic) and I wound up having a 10 minute conversation with a lady who was trying to save the California forests. As usual I couldn't sign the petition (not being a US citizen) but I did offer up $5 to help out. She even invited me to her monthly vegan pot-luck dinner, but I had to slide out at that point, as I was late for my reservation over at Tomi Sushi :)

On the "normal" side, I love the Mexican family that runs Los Charros (the guy with the handlebar mustache is especially cool).

Hope all is well for you guys, we're missing California up here!
